Susan Sarandon Bio
It was following the 1968 Democratic convention, and there was a casting request for a film featuring a range of roles for the kind of young people who had disrupted convention. Joe (1970), was auditioned for by Joe (1970) and Joe (1970) Two recent Catholic University students. Chris Sarandon, who had studied to be an actor, was turned by the casting committee. His wife Susan was offered a part in the film as Susan Compton. Susan is the daughter of Bill Compton (Dennis Patrick). In the film Dad Bill kills Susan's drug dealer friend and then befriends Joe (Peter Boyle)who is an outspoken scumbag who works in an assembly line and who is a collector of guns.Five years after, Sarandon made the film in which fans of classic films have come to recognize her as Janet who is involved with transvestite Dr. Frank n Furter in The The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975). Over 15 years after beginning her career Sarandon was finally active in a campaign for a great role, Annie in Bull Durham (1988), travelling on her own expense from Rome from Rome to Los Angeles. She said "It was such a great script... it did away with many myths and challenged the American definition of what success is". "I had a few hours there with Kevin Costner, sex some men in the studio before getting back on a plane. Tim Robbins (1988), her Bull Durham supporting actor, had already produced two sons in 1992, which placed Sarandon in a position where she was able to leave her home and pursue challenging roles. Four Academy Award nominations were received in the 1990s. The best actress award for Dead Man Walking (1995) was also given. Louis Malle's Atlantic City (1980) was her first Academy Award nomination.
