Abi Clarke
In the earlier
days (i.e. the early 2020s, comedians could have hoped to spend the next few
years touring across the UK as stand-up comedians, prior to being invited to
join a television panel show, and later selling tickets to an arena tour.
However, that's not easy at the moment. Comedy is one art form that can remain
performed front of an audience, but we won't see arena tours any time in the
near future. However, one comedian from Bristol has managed to reach an
international audience via social media lockdown. Being famous on the internet
is not something that Abi Clarke was hoping to achieve. Abi Clarke, a
24-year-old who lives in Henbury with her parents, created her first online
videos to "build a community of like-minded people who would appreciate my
stand-up comedy." "I had been performing frequently in Devon to men
older than 50 who weren't as hot on my Love Island Sims and Twilight
references, so it was the right time to look online for others who were young and
would like my stand-up comic." Abi, who lives in Hen bury with her parents
continues to post her videos on Instagram, Twitter, and Tik Tok. She gets
inspiration from many sources, including conversations with strangers, the
chatroom, and writing down her thoughts on her phone.
