Randy Gene Moss

Randy Gene Moss, born on 13th February 1977, is an ex-American player in the field of football. He was an American football player who played for 14 seasons in the National Football League (NFL), including with the Minnesota Vikings and Oakland Raiders and the New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans. Alongside Jerry Rice, he is often regarded as the best wide receiver to ever play. He holds the NFL single year touchdown record (23 in 2007) as well as the rookie NFL single season touchdown reception mark (17 in 1998). He also ranks in the top spot on the NFL all time regular season touchdown receptions list with 156. Moss was well known for his prowess in securing contestable catches, and the term "mossed" is now part of football's language. Following his football career Moss began his career as a studio analyst with ESPN for their Sunday NFL Countdown program and Monday Night Countdown. Moss was born in Rand, West Virginia. He was a student at DuPont High School. It was one of two schools which later became Riverside High School. There Moss excelled in football, basketball, track, and other sports. Randy was also a member of the school's debate team. On the football field, Moss led the DuPont Panthers to state championships in back-to-back years in 1993 and 1992. His most prominent position was wide receiver. However, Moss also played safety for free as well as punted kickoffs. He also was the team's punter as well as kicker. He received the Kennedy Award in 1994 as West Virginia's Football Player of the Year. Parade magazine named him to their All-American high school football team in the year 1995, and in 2009 He was named among the top 50 footballers from high school ever.
